Now onto Stac...
I don't even know where to start!
I have a lot to cover and not very much time to type it all because I'm leaving soon. lets go!

Prepping for STAC live has been stressful but I've still learned a lot. I don't have that much experience with editing because usually when I make a movie or something someone else does all of that for me, so I was pretty much learning how to do that from scratch and the quality of the footage wasn't very good so there was a lot more editing needed to be done but in the end I think it turned out pretty good.

Onto the field trip. The Neue Galerie was amazing I spent so much time in there obsessing over every little detail with Courtney while Sabrina just watched us in amazement over how much we noticed. It was really nice to have someone to talk about art with and not have them think you're insane. In my past art classes no one was ever as interested as I was because they were all just there because they were required to be and not because they wanted to. I remember going to the Guggenheim last year and seeing my classmates just laying down on the couches sleeping instead of looking at all the art or even the architecture. It bothers me when people don't care about art because it means so much to me. I feel that if someones going to put hours upon hour of their life into a painting you should at least have the decency to go look at it and not sit on your ass.

Enough ranting and onto happier thoughts. The shostatreetree was one of the best things we've done so far this year. It really showed how art can bring a group of people together and get them through rough times. Even though I loved it I don't know if I'm too crazy about the idea of doing it again next year. I feel like it's something special to this year alone and if we were to do it again next year we'd be living to much in the past again. Having traditions is okay but there was a specific reason we did it this year and if we were to do it again next year it wouldn't mean as much to us and it would take away what made this year special. I'm not saying that we shouldn't ever have another shostatreetree but maybe next year we should do it differently and make it special to that group of students.
